Hello Brother Knights and Families,

As we are growing up we are told to never be afraid and try out new things, whether it is food, new clothing styles, or leadership roles. I have always tried to do that, sometimes reluctantly but never the less I would try.

For the past thirteen years I have been involved with the Knights of Columbus State Council, first as a District Deputy, then elected State Warden, Advocate, Treasurer, Secretary, and now State Deputy. With these positions I have tried to give my best, which is all that can be asked of anybody. As you move up the “chairs” as State Officers, come more duties and responsibilities. Since being elected as State Deputy there have been many good times and many trials, I have tried my best. But sometimes giving your best is not enough; it takes a lot of time and talent.

After lots of prayer and soul searching I have decided not to seek a second term as State Deputy. This has been a tough decision to make, but I feel it is the right one. We need to keep the State moving in the right direction and we have a great group of State Officers who are doing just that. We must remember the Knights of Columbus is bigger than anyone of us. I want to thank everyone for the support that has been given to me in the past seven months and for your continued support as we finish out this Fraternal Year.

Let us ask St. Michael for guidance as we make important decisions in our lives.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God, cast into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

St. Michael defend us.
